Food Donation Drive: A Gesture of Compassion and Community Service

On June 29, 2024, our students, in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Salem Gugai, orchestrated a profoundly moving food donation drive at Henry’s Home for the Aged, nestled within the serene campus of St. John’s School. This compassionate initiative sought to extend heartfelt support and bring moments of solace and joy to the elderly residents of the home.

The event radiated an aura of warmth and selflessness as our students, brimming with enthusiasm, collaborated tirelessly to prepare and distribute nourishing meals. Their unwavering dedication exemplified a profound commitment to community service, illuminating the power of collective effort in uplifting lives and spreading kindness.

Adding a touch of grace and solidarity to the occasion, two of our esteemed faculty members, Dr. C. Bavithra, Head of the Department of Mathematics, and Dr. T. Sowmya, Head of the Department of English, graced the old age home with their presence during lunch. Their visit was marked by heartfelt interactions with the residents, meticulous oversight of the event’s execution, and a shared spirit of compassion.

This humbling experience underscored the importance of extending empathy and forging meaningful connections with those in need, leaving an indelible impression on all involved.

The food donation drive emerged as a resounding triumph, epitomizing the ethos of generosity and social responsibility instilled in our students. Such noble endeavors stand as a testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to nurturing values of empathy, service, and community engagement, inspiring a legacy of altruism and humanity in every participant.
